West Mercia are the first force in England (North Wales already have black T-shirts and base ball caps to wear) to get rid of the unpractical and annoying white shirt and black tie uniform. They are replacing it with this black T-shirt uniform. Which I think looks much better and I'm looking forward to my force adopting a similar uniform. We still need to lose those stupid 'tit' helmets tho.

It's about time our Force dragged themselves into the 21st Century and issued something a bit more practical like these.
'Til then I've been practicing my "'evenin' all" and am off to check for young scamps nicking apples. And, er, other olden stuff???
And don't forget to give them all a clip around the ear while you're at it.
I have to say though, that I do like the traditional uniforms, though I do know how un~practical they are.
When Im on PSU at footie games or operations we get to wear tshirts. They are so practical and do look smart, its definitely the way forward.
I would like to keep the custodian, its part of the history and the make up of a british bobby. But doesnt quite go with the Tshirt.

you wanna be in our lot, going the opposite way, every thing new we get is high vis, so if they want to give us T shirts by current standards they can keep them.
And very nice they are too thanks... But we're only allowed to wear them under a stab vest. To make sure we get the message they are referred to as the "under armour vest". We just need to get rid of the crap trousers now..
